We are seeking an experienced Marketing Specialist to lead and execute marketing initiatives focused on the Mainland China market. This role will be based in Malaysia and will work closely with the regional sales team, customers, and our Mainland China marketing agency to build and execute an effective marketing strategy.
The ideal candidate has proven experience developing and executing marketing programs in China, understands the Chinese digital ecosystem, and has experience engaging customers through localized marketing activities. This individual will play a key role in building our marketing infrastructure and growing brand awareness and demand in Mainland China.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the marketing strategy for Mainland China, aligned with regional business and sales objectives.
- Plan, manage, and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels to generate awareness, customer engagement, lead generation, and pipeline growth.
- Work closely with our appointed Mainland China marketing agency to develop the marketing and social media infrastructure, ensuring campaigns are localized and aligned with business goals.
- Manage and optimize marketing activities across Chinese digital platforms, including social media, content marketing, webinars, events, email marketing, and other relevant channels.
- Plan and coordinate customer-facing activities including seminars, workshops, exhibitions, conferences, roadshows, and ad-hoc events within Mainland China.
- Collaborate with the sales, technical, and regional marketing teams to develop localized marketing programs that support customer acquisition and retention.
- Nurture relationships with customers, partners, industry associations, and key stakeholders to drive lead generation through expansion.
- Coordinate the development of Mandarin marketing materials, digital content, customer success stories, and campaign assets appropriate for the China market.
- Monitor campaign performance, analyze marketing metrics, and provide recommendations to improve marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
- Identify market trends, competitive activities, and customer insights to support business growth and marketing strategy.
- Ensure marketing activities comply with local regulations and company brand guidelines.
- Support regional marketing initiatives where appropriate and share best practices across Asia.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of marketing experience, with demonstrated responsibility for the Mainland China market.
- Proven experience planning and executing marketing campaigns in China.
- Strong understanding of China's digital marketing ecosystem, including platforms such as WeChat, WeCom, Mai Mai, Douyin, and Baidu, and experience working with local marketing agencies.
- Experience organizing customer events, trade shows, seminars, and technical marketing activities in China.
- Strong customer engagement and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cultures.
- Experience supporting B2B marketing, preferably in technology, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, software, or scientific industries.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to measure campaign performance and make data-driven recommendations.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable managing multiple projects across different countries and time zones.
- Fluent in Simplified Chinese and English (spoken and written). Ability to communicate effectively with customers and partners in Mainland China is essential.
- Experience with marketing automation, CRM platforms, and social media management tools is an advantage.
- Experience or interest in using JMP statistical discovery software is a plus.
Location
- Based in Malaysia.
- Travel to Mainland China may be required in the future to support customer engagement, events, and collaboration with local partners and agencies.
