About the job

The JMP sales team is looking for a Sales Manager who will be responsible for internal sales management and daily supervision of account executives at JMP. For the right candidate, this is a fantastic leadership role with an opportunity to make visible contributions and advance your career within the JMP leadership team. In this role, you will report directly to the VP, JMP EMEA Sales and Marketing. 

 

As a Sales Manager, you will:

  • Responsible for achievement of sales target, including both new software and renewal revenue.
  • Work with Executive Sales and Marketing Management to define and/or understand strategic initiatives.
  • Provide motivational leadership for the sales team.  Set and review performance and sales goals for individual team members.
  • Supervise account executives.  Directly manage day-to-day activities of sales staff.  
  • Deliver timely and accurate sales forecasts to management both in Salesforce and leadership meetings.
  • Plan and implement both revenue and employee growth plans in alignment with the goals of the sales and marketing organization.
  • Coordinate resources from sales, Inside Sales, Systems Engineering staff and JMP Business Operations for selling, supporting, and promoting JMP products.
  • Work in conjunction with JMP legal staff and JMP Business Operations to negotiate contracts and proposals.
  • Assist sales representatives to meet goals in day-to-day performance, sales, and increased product knowledge, both industry and technically.
  • Accompany JMP account executives on sales calls including pre and post call coaching and mentoring.
  • Conduct group sales meetings.
  • Responsible for timely recruitment, hiring and training of staff.
  • Direct complex sales opportunities, including implementation plans, which include the coordination and collaboration of internal and external team resources in EMEA and with global counterparts or peers around the world.
  • Collaborate with sales management across the company on sales strategies for shared accounts.
  • Interpret sales policies, advise representatives and sales assistants in the handling of complicated sales and policy issues, and emphasize the requirement for use of JMP's sales methodologies.

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or quantitative field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in software sales including 2 years of leadership experience 
  • Proven track record of successfully achieving a sales target.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Ability to travel
  • English fluency. Second EU language fluency is a nice to have

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic sales techniques and principles specifically in the software industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least three industries and/or market segments.
  • Knowledge of corporate software acquisition cycles.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
